February 2023 Minutes
Dunston Parish Council
Minutes of the Dunston Parish Council Meeting Held on Monday 13th February 2023
Present: Cllrs McLuckie (Chair), Lamyman, Pellew, Duncan, Philipson, Treece. Clerk to Council and 3 members of the public.
The meeting commenced with a presentation given by Roger Leighton and Kevin Copeland on the proposed extension to the housing development immediately behind the village hall.
LCC Cllr Kendrick’s report was discussed and other than a concern about any increase in HGV traffic arising from the proposed Anerobic Digester on Metheringham airfield no other comments were raised. The proposed solar farm was thought to pose no issues for Dunston and a speed reduction to 40mph on the B1188 at the junction would be welcomed.
Council Session
23011 To receive apologies and accept valid reasons of absence:
Received from Cllrs Armstrong, Moore and NKDC Cllr Bailey.
23012 To receive members’ declarations of disposable pecuniary, non-disclosable pecuniary or non-pecuniary interests in relation to any agenda item. No changes
23013 The minutes of the previous meeting on 9th January 2023 were agreed as a true record.
23014 The cheque sent to Cloud Next had finally been received and email migration should soon be possible.
Action: TB
23015 All Cllrs were requested to submit new “Code of Conduct” and “Register of Interest” forms to NKDC because the forms themselves had been revised.
Action: All
23016 The Village Keepers report was reviewed. The ploughing over a public footpath had been reported to LCC for investigation. A number of minor issues had been reported via “Fix My Street”. Litter continued to be a problem and an approach to the employer of the temporary workers might help reduce the amount.
Action: TB
23017 Cllrs Duncan and McLuckie were thanked for their efforts constructing the two new picnic tables at the playing field. The Rocking Horse had also been repaired but the grass surface continues to be a problem. The mats had been delivered for the spot repairs but it was thought sensible to wait until better weather during the spring before attempting remedial action. Further investigation into chafer bug damage is still required.
Action: All
23018 CPRE are sending some representatives to the Hedge Planting event on Sat 4th March. The catering is to be confirmed with the village hall management. Start time 1000 and hopefully with enough volunteers and assistance from Dyson Farming the Sunday will not be required.
Action: PD
23019 The possibility of hosting an event to celebrate the King’s Coronation on 8th May was discussed but with most of the Cllrs being away and the proximity to the election it was not thought possible.
23020 The survey on the Village Hall still had not been received.
Action: TB
