Minutes of the Dunston Parish Council Meeting - Monday 14th April 2025
 
Present: Cllrs McLuckie, Armstrong, Craig, Lamyman, Pellew, Phillipson and Craig. LCC Cllr Kendrick, one member of the public and Clerk to the council.

25043 Apologies received from Cllrs Duncan, Treece and NKDC Cllr Parry.
25044 No declarations of interest were received.
25045 The Chairman welcomed new Cllr Alan Craig to the meeting.
25046 The minutes of the meeting on 10th March 2025 were approved and signed by the Chairman.
25047 The Chairman confirmed that the sandbags would continue to be kept in the old potato store but it was thought that moving them to the lean-to at the top of Back Lane near the cemetery could be a better long-term solution. This has been requested but we are still awaiting agreement from the building owners.
25048 The test of the Emergency Plan needed to be scheduled – a google poll will be sent round to those involved to help choose a suitable date. RM
25049 A formal request for a pedestrian dropped kerb should be submitted to LCC. BL TB 
25050 The community speed watch project is still on hold awaiting more volunteers.
25051 The question of dealing with the moles on the playing field and cemetery was deferred to allow more time for research. All
25052 It was agreed to offer tea/coffee and light refreshments at the Annual Parish Meeting which is scheduled to take place on 12th May starting at 1830. All activities and clubs using the village hall and active in the village are to be invited to send a representative to address those parishioners who attend. TB 
25053 The costs involved in changing the ownership of the “ransom strip” of land by the playing field should be ascertained prior to a final decision being made.       LT TB 
25054 Cllr Duncan has been accepted as a signatory on all the bank accounts. PD
 
The next meeting of the Parish Council will take place in the Lamyman room in the Dunston Village Hall at 1900 on Monday 12th May after the Annual Parish Meeting concludes.
