2026 Minutes

Minutes of the Dunston Annual Parish Council Meeting - Monday 11th May 2026

Present: Cllrs McLuckie, Armstrong, Craig, Harrison, Lamyman, Pellew, Phillipson, Treece, two members of the public and Clerk to the council.

Public session  This was the Annual Parish Meeting, separate record.

L Phillipson and helpers were thanked for organising refreshments.

Council Session  

26057 No declarations of interest were received.

26058 Cllr McLuckie was re-elected unopposed to the position of Chairman.

26059 Cllr Craig was elected unopposed to the position of Vice Chairman.

26060 The Chairman signed the minutes of the April PC meeting. 

26061 The subject of lighting in the village hall car park was discussed . Further research into costs would be required before any decision could be made. ALL 

26062 The subject of CCTV coverage of the exterior of the village hall and telephone box had been raised. It was resolved to await any recommendations from the VHMC before making any decision. ALL   

26063 It was resolved that another goal complex similar to the one already at the playground would be desirable, especially if fitted a suitable distance from, and facing the existing one. TB RM

26064 HAGS has been asked to specify which work needs to be done on the play equipment, and costs involved.

26065 The VHMC were organising a summer event for Father’s Day. It was resolved that the cost of the bouncy castle hire for that event would be paid by the PC. TB

26066 The AGAR for FY 25/26 was presented to the PC. The Governance Statement was approved by the PC and signed by the Chairman and clerk.

25067 The Accounting Statements 25/26 were approved by the PC and signed by the Chairman.

25068 The state of the cemetery has been raised. It was resolved to seek the advice of a landscape gardener to improve its appearance and maintainability. TB RM

The next meeting of the Parish Council will take place in the Lamyman room in the 

Dunston Village Hall at 1900 on Monday 8th June.
