Minutes of the Dunston Parish Council Meeting - Monday 9th Feb 2026
Present: Cllrs McLuckie, Craig, Harrison, Lamyman, Pellew. Clerk to the council and LCC Cllr Kendrick. 
Council Session 
26014   Apologies for absence: Cllrs Armstrong, Phillipson and Treece.
26015   No declarations of interest were declared. 
26016  The minutes of the previous meeting on 12th Jan were agreed and signed as a true record.
26017   The review of policies and procedures was largely complete except for the Neighbourhood plan which requires significant updating to reflect the very different political climate at both local and national level. A specific date will be required to discuss this further. RM
26018  It was reported that the damaged road bridge on Front Street should be replaced later this summer and the faulty street light reported last August should be fixed by early March. Yet more further investigation of the blocked drain outside “Owl’s Hoot” is apparantly still required by NKDC.
26019  Project Groundwater training is going to be scheduled for the start of the next Parish Council meeting (9th March at 1900) for more members of the public to be given the opportunity to access the water level and flood alerting system.      AC RM
26020 The fly tipping on Lincoln Road is currently the subject of further investigation by NKDC Environment team and should be treated almost like a crime scene. Once their work is complete the debris will be removed.                      HB
26021 LCC Highways have volunteered to try to help mend the fencing around the playing field. A liaison meeting will be held with their contact on site.    TB
26022 The contract from T&T Tree services for  work on PC owned trees has been accepted and the work requested to be completed during the current financial year. TB
26023  It was agreed to renew the community garden waste scheme at the village hall for the coming year.     TB
26024 The VHMC intend to hold a fund raising Open Day on 6th June with light refreshments being served. VHMC
26025 The PC finances were reviewed and the current position and reserves thought satisfactory with only a few projects left to be completed during this financial year.
The meeting closed at 2040.
